In partnership with our friends at Yakima Chief Hops, we’ve brewed a bright and refreshing IPA using 100% Cryo Hops®. Hop cones are frozen with liquid nitrogen, then the lupulin glands are separated from the leaf, creating an extremely concentrated, high alpha acid pellet. This innovative process allows for intense hop flavors and aromas from a small volume of hops, and are yet another reason we love our hop partners.

Appearance: Pours a clear, pale yellow, almost lemon color with a thick and foamy, frosty white head. SRM of 6-7. (3.75)
Aroma: Moderate aromas of pineapple, lemon citrus, green-orange citrus, apricot, and faint coconut. Some tropical/asian fruit as well to add some mild complexity. Faint pine. (3.75)
Flavor: Flavor follows the nose with more sticky lemon, pineapple, ,orange, and light coconut. Some tropical sweetness evolves underneath and finish rather smooth. Nice lemon, coconut tropical notes. (3.75)
Feel: Body is light. Well-carbonated and feels very soft on the palate. Sudsy, but clean and not bittering. (4.25)
Compared to Odell's Original IPA 11/15/20: Pours a lighter and clearer color. More pineapple, lemon citrus, coconut. Less candied mandarin orange, grapefruit, stonefruit. Lighter and smoother.
Overall: This IPA has nice lemon, pineapple, and faint coconut flavors. A lighter body, but stronger carbonation and finishes very smooth on the palate, which is its best trait. (Final Rating: 3.80)

Bottle poured into a Mountain Rambler Brewery pint glass
A: Pours pale straw yellow with a frothy off white head that settles to a light layer and leaves a little nice lacing.
S: Grassy, spicy, bright citrus, floral, light fruity notes, crackery malt, and a faint yeastiness.
T: Bright zesty citrus, orange, lime, and lemon, some herbal spice, a mix of grassy and floral notes, light underlying fruity notes, apricot plus hints of starfruit, passion fruit, and faint melon, and just enough crackery malt.
M: A bit on the lighter side of medium body, moderate carbonation.
O: I'm usually pretty skeptical when IPAs are this light in color, but this one won me over. There's no shortage of flavor, and it displays a nice subtlety, not beating your over the head or leaving you wanting. Really refreshing and easy drinking.
