Didn't pick up on the Horchata but, with the 1st sip it reminded me of why I enjoy barrel aged imperial stouts

Black in color with no light penetration. There’s a fingernail of brown around the rim. The aroma is of cinnamon, vanilla, and a bit of bourbon. I’m tasting a lot of cinnamon, some vanilla, bourbon, and dark malt. The mouth is sticky and lightly warm with alcohol.

L: Pours a rich caramel, forming a thin khaki head that is quick to fade, leaving behind zero appreciable retention and a thin lacing of light tan around the edge of the glass. Held to the light, this beer has a dark hickory hue.

S: Malt, cinnamon, vanilla all strongly represented. Faint aromas of chocolate and candied sugar as well.

T: Plenty of vanilla, oak, and cinnamon right at the outset. Molasses and caramel as well, followed by hazelnut, thin rice malt, and coffee influence. Some faint char towards the finish.

F: Medium-bodied. A bit thinner than expected, almost silky. Light carbonation.

O: It's ok. A bit too much spice and not enough malt or chocolate for my liking.

Pours a medium golden brown but sits in the glass black with a slight head that builds to a one finger foam that firms up nicely. Aroma is deeply vanilla and oak. Taste is oak and spice, with perhaps a small amount of vanilla hidden in there. There is a bit of licorice in the profile, though not at all overwhelming as with the bourbon too. Cinnamon is present in the mix. This is a highly drinkable and pleasant imperial stout.

The bold coffee smells of a stout initially dominate but there is definitely sweetness and cinnamon present as well.

It has a rich bitter taste like any good stout. There is no cinnamon flavor and the sweetness isn't significantly greater that any other stout.

It has a medium body and mild carbonation. The finish starts with burnt sugar but eventually does give off some cinnamon.

This is just a really solid stout. It's hard to believe that it has a 12% abv. The cinnamon in the aftertaste is a nice subtle touch but I expected more from a beer that had horchata in its name. I give it a 4.1 out of 6.

12 oz. Bottle
Bottled: ?

Poured into a tulip a pretty nice dark brown/black color, with some pretty nice carbonation, with a pretty nice thick/creamy/quick/fizzy one-finger tan head, which also leaves a very nice medium size island/oil slick, and also leaves some minimal sticky lacing behind. The nose is pretty nice, malty, hoppy, with a pretty nice touch of chocolate/toffee, vanilla, cinnamon, licorice, bourbon/oak notes. The taste is very nice, malty, hoppy, with a very nice touch of chocolate/toffee, with a really nice touch of vanilla, licorice, cinnamon, very nice bourbon/oak notes. Full Body, ABV is hidden very nicely, with a slight dry/bitter finish, a very nice sipper. Overall, this is a very tasty brew. Glad to see it around here.

I think I made a mistake having this after this Churro beer from Weldwerks. You could have told me this was a basic Russian imperial cuz I get zero adjunct right now. Think this deserves another shot. Although if you hold it to light you can see through it which.... to me that's bad. My other stout isn't barrel aged and doesn't do that.
