Very Rich and smooth. Bright citrus is balanced beautifully by a medium body and light, crisp, clean finish. Easy drinker you can sip on slowly. A fuller and richer version of the original. More depth, but very straightforward. Nothing fancy here. Pineapple is definitely present.

On-tap in McCall, with solid haze in a bright orange package with minimal head. Juicy aromatics, citrus and tropical fruit, minor dankness. Crisp melon, tangerine, and stone fruit on the palate with a dry biscuit malt body that makes the mouthfeel dry and crisp. A solid double hazy.

Pours a hazed gold with a thumb of eggshell colored head. Noce lacing & decent head retention
S: Papayas, mangoes, peaches once warm
T: Follows the nose, some dryness, limes, white grapes & green melon up front. Nectarine & lime as this beer warmed up, more green melon & a little dryness. Finishes with tangerine, lime, guava & dryness
MF: Medium body, subdued carbonation, good balance
Just got better as it warmed up. Pretty drinkable for the ABV

Cloudy orange/yellow color with a modest off white head and some bits of lacing.
The aroma is citrus, pineapple, alcohol, caramel malt.
The taste is pineapple, tangerine, a bit of grapefruit and light caramel malt, mildly sweet, obvious alcohol. The finish is dry with lingering grapefruit zest and pine resin.
The body is medium, mild carbonation, sip-able.
Altogether, this is a pretty decent brew, tasty, a bit boozy, but still enjoyable, very good.

Strong hop flavour. Drinkable base. Some lace. Very drinkable. Draft at the source.hazy but west coast character overides that hazy for a summer hoppy enjoyable beer.

Pours a hazy dark orange with two fingers of off-white foam. Aroma is thick resiny, herbal, and tropical fruit hops. Despite the density of hops, alcohol is apparent in the aroma. Flavor profile is thick resiny, herbal, and tropical fruit hops. Mild evergreen hops come in later. Alcohol pokes through at the end, emphasizing the heft of this beer, and upsetting the balance and flow. Mouth feel is thick, with a near still effervescence that carries a mild silt. Overall, a thick IPA with loads of hops, unfortunately, also with loads of alcohol. Not the same balance or flow of the base (non-imperial) version.

12oz can from Hops & Bottles. Golden pour with a small frothy white head. Aroma and taste are you would expect them to be for a mass produced DIPA. Light sweet malts and a hoppy enough back end. Smooth, easy to drink. ABV not that apparent.

Poured from a 12 ounce can into a Shaker pint glass, date on can is "08/10/23".
APPEARANCE: pours a hazy, copper color with one-finger, off-white head that quickly dissipated until a thin, broken layer of small bubbles remained, moderate lacing on the glass, lighter than average carbonation.
SMELL: this beer is subtle to the nose, biscuit, brown sugar, grapefruit and a soapy note (the glass was clean, I swear!).
TASTE: the taste follows the nose, initially sweet brown sugar and grapefruit citrus, bread and a soapy taste, the 9% ABV is clearly perceptible.
PALATE: medium body and lighter carbonation.
OVERALL: this is not my favorite Imperial IPA, the soapy note was off-putting to me, it's also too boozy for my taste as the alcohol was not well disguised, I would not seek this out again as there are better beers in this style to be found.

12 fl oz pull-tab can:
A bit boozy, but there's enough hop pungency here to interest fans of regular Mountain Standard.
Count me in the camp that thinks the old Mountain Standard CDA was better than both...

12oz can. Poured out a slightly cloudy, golden orange color with a small, khaki-colored head of foam. It left minimal lacing on the glass. It smelled of grapefruit, orange, caramel and pine. Sweet fruity taste with toasted caramel and a piney, sharp bitterness.

Mountain Standard Imperial Hazy IPA
Orange hazy liquid at about 70% transparency with a small, floppy off white cap.
Orange and Apricot dominate the nose, a touch of yeast funk and hop aroma.
Blood orange, some grapefruit and a touch of apricot with a powdery saccharine floral sweetness at first. Reminds me of a dry hop addition similar to Sierra’s Powder Day IPA. Then a fair amount of nondescript hop and alcohol bitterness and dryness keeping things in check.
Mouthfeel is medium in body with a touch of glycerin slickness acting as a counterpoint to the dry hop and alcohol finish. The alcohol is not hidden and is on the verge of being a bit too aggressive. Longer term aftertaste is quite mouth drying.
Quite a departure from my well liked Mountain Standard IPA. Less fresh and juicy with less identifiable hop character. Not as refined and with less hop character than Myrcenary. Kind of like some of the Voodoo hazy strong IPAs, with less varied NE fruit components. I’ve got 2 more cans and am not sure I will be consuming then any time soon. Maybe it will grow on my over time.
