Draft at the 2011 Small Batch Festival.
Pours a very dark caramel/chestnut brown color that is completely opaque with faint mahogany edges and a 1.5 finger light beige head. Good retention, slowly fading into lasting cap. Sporadic rings and chunks of soapy lacing
Sweet malt aroma only slightly roasted with hints of hazelnut, toffee and biscuit. Faint chocolate and earthy hops.
Medium bodied and slightly roasted with a good balance of smokey malt and sweeter notes. Hints of chocolate, toffee, nut and faint coffee. Slightly acrid which kind of overpowers the sweeter notes, lingering into a long dry finish. Earthy hoops contribute to bitterness. I'm also picking up hints of caramel, lactic creamiess, chocolate, hazelnut and toast. Dry finish.

This is at their tasting room, with Johnny Cash on the tap handle, I had to try it. I asked for a 10oz, and they gave me a pint. Pity :)
Pours slightly murky, dark rich chestnut color. 1 finger, head..white a bit creamy.
Aroma is a bit over powered by the surroundings. Served a bit too cold imho. But, rich and nutty, sweet caramel and touch of twang from some hops. Floral if anything.
Smooth feel with a sweet-sharp combo finish. Nice beer.
