i believe this one is an original to their five points location, a collaboration with strangebird, a west coast pils with hops all the way from new york state, a cool beer, crisp and robustly hopped, herbal and grassy and distinctive, not too intense for pounding, but a lot of flavor in this, high quality lagering too, a joy to drink. clear and brass colored, short but lasting white head on it, frantic carbonation visible, mirror shine on it, looks great. not sure what the hops are, but they come in waves in both aroma and flavor, slightly green and kind of northwestern actually up front, light spiciness but then it opens as it warms and flows intro pink grapefruit, heady indica, and even subtle red berry, distinctive for sure, herbal, and all through this. the pils malt is pretty robust too though, less european to me, a bit baked, mineral forward, hearty and fuller in this, plenty balanced even if this ends up a little bigger in overall body and presence in the glass than the standard pils, and not just because of the hops, i think the proportions are nice and i think it warms up really well. mellow white wine, even champagne character in here, bready familiar not neutral lager yeast but very clean overall anyway, with some appreciable back end bitterness adding snap and zip. the hops have a little green tea to them, pine resin, and bite, and they fit in great in this lager. tidy beer, well made, cool recipe, a nice collaboration overall, had a blast hanging out and drinking with the crew at the five points spot, they are killing it there! need to get my lips on some strangebird beers too...

On tap at Strangebird Brewing in Rochester, NY. Collaboration between Odell Brewing and Strangebird Brewing.
This one pours a light golden orange color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.
This smells pretty spicy and earthy, in a great way, with a clean biscuity malt aroma.
This is definitely heavy duty on the hop character for a pilsner, but I enjoy it. The hop character is spicy, herbal, earthy, slightly lemony, and ultimately very refreshing, with a clean and lingering bitterness. There’s a touch of biscuity and bready malt character, but the hops are the star here.
This is lighter bodied, clean, bitter, and very drinkable.
Strangebird’s beers keep getting better and better over time.
