a somewhat classically styled wit brewed with orange and coriander, nice and fresh, fruit forward, a little less yeast driven and estery than i generally expect from the style, but neat proportions anyway, subtly nuanced, definitely wheaty, and very fresh and drinkable even with some real body from the grain, effective as a warm weather refresher for sure. sunny colored and kind of rich looking, yellow and not super pale, a little fuller looking but with enough bubbles and rising white head to pass as a belgian style beer no doubt. nose is juicy orange for sure, less peel more actual flesh and juice, summery and a little bit sweet, i get this in front of the yeast and thats also the case with the flavor. hints of pear and white wine and white pepper in the nose, more hearty wheat and mellow toasted coriander in the flavor, lightly spicy but not phenolic and running away. this would seem lighter if it were drier, and im not sure the belgian yeast strain they have selected for this is very unique or vivacious in the traditional sense, but it all comes together well, i like the fuller flavored and feeling wheat, its a good trade off and it really defines this. i also like how forward and natural the orange is, almost a beermosa vibe overall, and i could see this being exceptional morning and hangover beer. i was stoked on the diversity on the five points location menu when i was in recently, some great beers happening here!
