really cool beer, arnold palmer inspired blonde ale, done with black tea and meyer lemon, highly dosed i think on both, or the base beer is so light it seems that way, maybe a combination of those factors, but i like it anyway, really authentic and fresh and refreshing, love the boldness of the tea, clever recipe with great execution, dont sleep on this little odell location and their creativity! this doesnt really seem to take any color from the tea, it looks like a normal blonde type, fizzy but not really holding much head. the nose is awesome, fresh brewed black tea, nice steep on it, well infused and forward, with some sweetish lemon acidity in support, pale malt beneath it, clean ferment but off dry to me, tea and lemon together is timeless, and i sure works here, very summery but still appealing in the fall of course. the flavor is similar, its crazy how forward the tea is but im into it, some bitterness to it is pleasant, nice with and against the grain, light as this is its not too light for the flavors and thats a cool choice in recipe design. the lemon acidity quickens it up, is very natural, and has a floral aspect that synergizes with the tea incredibly well, zesty and brisk at the end. this sort of feels like something to drink right when you think you are getting sick, almost healthful to me, salubrious, very neat. some body actually, but easy down, lots of flavor, nice balance, extremely well done. this is like the third or fourth beer i had in here that i think could be in the permanent packaged odell lineup, its that good in here! cans of this in high summer on the course or the boat would be an absolute delight!
