This is a new take on the familiar classic, with it being much lower in ABV and thus even more sessionable. It's an amber ale, but you could easily call this the backbone of an Oktoberfest but without the spice-flavored hops. There's plenty here, so don't mistake it for just a watered-down version of 90 Shilling. It's very malty and biscuity, and I really hope this becomes more widely available than just at their Five Points taproom.

this makes so much sense, seems almost decades overdue, and is something awesome from the five points spot, but could easily scale to be a packaged beer from the mothership, same nice rich complex old world malty flavor as the original, but so much easier drinking without really sacrificing mouthfeel, its not diminished or watery or anything, and its still hearty and healthful feeling, lower alcohol too, total english mild vibes here. clear deep amber in color and an almost whipped looking just off white head with no settling hardly at all, real lovely glow to this, looks cozy and sturdy. the nose is a little understated, to me less baked and a little less sweet than the original, but grain bill proportions and yeast elements seem identical, good minerality, a kilned sort of aspect to the malt, kind of timeless, maybe better in the context of its relation to the original, maybe lacking slightly if unfamiliar. the flavor is more robust, uniquely dry for being this malty and i think thats cool, love the depth but also with the low alcohol, really fun. hints of almond, raisin, toffee, bread crusts, and has a nice frothy mouthfeel. i would dare say i like this as much as the original, it has that small batch attention to detail vibe too coming from the denver location instead of the big house. i would love to see a packaged play!
