Served on tap at Choice City Butcher and Deli in a generic pint glass, reviewed from notes:
A - Presents a murky orange/golden with one finger of white frothy head. Retention is average, though I assume the ABV is pretty high (based on standard Myrcenary). Appealing, if a bit less refined than the base beer.
S - The peach dominates, though I find other fruits including pineapple, mango and orange. Tropical fruit and grassy notes emanate from the aggressive hopping. Sweet candied sugar and caramel round out the nose. It's a pungent aroma, and leans towards the sweet side, and may be a bit imbalanced. Inviting nonetheless.
T - Aggressive hopping lends a a noticeable fruity and grassy bitterness though it doesn't stand up to the sweetness of the added fruit. The flavor profile is nearly perfect; the execution is a bit lacking, though. It's imbalanced. The fruit is delicious and fresh and the hops are fresh and pungent. The malts definitely take the back seat in this one.
M - Thick, smooth and wet. Almost like drinking juice. Unrefined, but it strangely works.
D - I liked this beer a lot, and would support brewing this on a regular basis. The idea is great and the mixture of the mango/peach combo with the hops in this beer would work really well if properly balanced.
