Satanic Chimp is an American Amber/Red Ale that combines some of our favorite traits. It is a dry ale with notes of roast and caramel on the nose and front of the palate. A mild hop bitterness cleans up on the finish but the bitterness is not lingering. A touch of citrus from the Centennial finish brightens up the profile just enough to enjoy this beer on a sunny San Diego afternoon. Cheers to indulgence!

My all-time favorite beer. I can't believe it wasn't more popular. Way back when, they were always running out of it. I wonder why they discontinued it.

May 4th, 2015 - Sipped in Spring but belongs in Fall, the "Satanic Chimp" is a nourishing beer, spiced and bready like a fresh feast. The smell is deep and thick like a brown bread roll, with a touch of rye and some pumpkin bread notes. The flavor is bitter at first with metal and hops, but gains some sweetness in the middle, developing a paunch of brown sugar and yam. Finally, the aftertaste concludes with another round of hops before dropping off quickly and inviting another sip.
