The Downs Family Irish Stout is flavorful and robust despite its modest 5.1% ABV. The aroma is full of coffee, chocolate, and roast. The flavor is bold, roasty, and smooth. A black beer with a strong cocoa-tinted head with endless lacing as you drink. The Downs Family Irish Stout was named after the Folk/Punk mainstays of San Diego. A great beer for a great band!

On tap at O'Brien's
A: Black with a rich and creamy tan head. Tons of lacing down the glass. Really similar to a real Irish Guinness.
S: Slightly faint roasted aroma. Maybe some chicory in there, but pretty much all roast.
T: A pretty good representation of the style. Tons of roasted malt, dark roasted coffee and charred malt. Mouthfeel is a bit thin for me but it's a solid beer.
