Dark, rich, and spicy dessert beer. Not too sweet but plenty of malt. Tastes like a fizzy chocolate and gingerbread cake. Lots of cinnamon, like in Mexican hot cocoa.
This pours with a decent foam and plenty of carbonation in the Chimay chalice. Somewhat of a woody mouthfeel. Increasingly bitter burr as you sip. Nice nose of chocolate. Sweetness in the aftertaste along with the bitter hops. This doesn't taste as strong as the ABV would suggest. HIghly sippable and a nice big stout with some sugar and spice that is not overdone.
