A-Deep, dark, reddish brown with amber highlights. A thin off-white head reduces to a wispy veil and leaves spotty lace.

S-Light roasted malt with a surprisingly aggressive hazelnut backing.

T- Solid roasted malt base is nicely accented by rich, meaty nuttiness, a touch of prune and a pleasant earthy hop bite. Ends with a building dryness.

M-Medium bodied with a good amount of lingering flavour and astringent ending.

D- Shockingly solid! A nicely done flavourful brown ale that is certainly a sessionable offering. Without question the best of the bunch of the six beers we tried.

This beer pours a dark but clear brown. It looks like a glass of dark iced tea. There was little to no head on this one. Maybe due to a lack in hop oils. The aroma is all malt, pretty sweet smell. The flavor is mostly of sweet malt. Not a bad beer. Good mouthfeel. The cabonation is a little light. It is a nice drinkable beer. Another good session beer from Jasper Ridge.

Color is very nice for a brown, its dark brown of deep, darl, varnished oak with dark amber highlights. Thin off-white head of tight foam, creamy, small lacy patches linger then fade. Smell faintly of dark wheat, roasted malts and a great nutty backing, hazel and chestnut I believe.Taste is complex and in subtle layers, all smooth and soild of roasted malts and mixed nuts and has a very slight dark fruit, bananaish note, and a hop twingy bittering late, very interesting. Nice late dryness follows, mellowing out even more so then at first. One soild brown ale with a medium body and light grainyness thats pretty drinkable. It could use a bit more boldness, but is relaxing and good none the less. I enjoyed it. Solid offering.
