Reviewed from notes. Poured from a 22 oz. bottle into a Cigar City Brewing goblet.
A: Hazy dark gold, with a half-finger white head that fades quickly to a foamy ring. A good amount of visible carbonation. There are lots of large yeast clumps in suspension that slowly sink to the bottom.
S: Not much here. A mild citrus hoppiness and biscuit malts. But truly strangely non-aromatic.
T: Tropical and citrus hops, coriander and lemon rind. I guess Belgian yeast - a bit confusing since there’s not a lot of fruitiness, but there is a significant clove presence that reminds me more of German Hefe. There’s a spiciness on top of that though, that I can’t quite place – did the label say cardamom?? Biscuit malts, some resinous hops. And it finishes with lingering coriander, citrus, and light hop bitterness.
M: A medium body for an IPA. Carbonation sensation on the low side. Alcohol sweetness is present but this isn't “hot”.
O: Really not my favorite. Aside from the weird lack of aroma thing, it’s not awful. But the spice flavor is out of place, and the clove doesn’t play as well with the hops as most Belgian IPAs (and even those seem to have a cap on how good I think they are). I wouldn’t drink this again. If you were in the mood for a Belgian IPA, I think there are some significantly better options.

22 oz 2016 bottle in Atlanta.
Pours with a hazy golden body topped by a durable white head that leaves full sheets of lacing on the glass.
Aroma: complex, spicy, fruity, appealing and moderately hoppy.
Flavor: there's a hint of Brett, especially in the moderately bitter aftertaste, but this may be just the mix of hops (Columbus, Chinook, and Citra) and Trappist yeast, plus the added bitter orange peel and cardamom. High complexity, especially for style.
Feel: smooth medium body with medium+ but soft carbonation.
