This heartily colored seasonal ale presents with a distinctly buttery aroma. The butter character also comes through in the flavor quite distinctly. A bold, but not overly aggressive hop spice finishes off the brew nicely.

This was one of the better Scottish-style biers I had at the Maine Brewers Fest. Poured dark brown, with a creamy, tan head, though short-lasting, and ok lace. Nose was a bit mild, yet did exhibit some malt and peat notes. Medium body accompanied medium smoothness on the tongue. Good semi-sweet maltiness co-mingled with some caramel notes and a tiny bit of peat flavor. A very tiny bit of hoppiness was evident at the end. Nice brew!
