With spicy Belgian yeast and fruity esters, this beer has flavors as bold as the mythical golden dall sheep said to reign over Denali National Park.

Bless the lord and praise be - a tripel in Alaska. Really delicious and proper glassware too!

Tasted on tap at the Anchorage brewpub.
L - Light gold color and excellent clarity. Very light sheet of head, almost nonexistent. Some lacing.
S - Nice Belgian aromas of cotton candy, bubblegum and light grain.
T - Hoppier than expected from the aroma. Sharp citrus and herbal hop notes eclipse any malt or yeast character, except for a hint of sweetbread-like malt in the finish.
F - Light to medium body. Moderate carbonation seems low for the style. Very high hops bitterness for style. Alcohol is lightly warming but well-hidden for the ABV.
O - Not sure if this is a tripel or blond, but from the hop level I guess a tripel. Even for that style the hops are a-bit over the top compared to the old-country originals, and I’d prefer more malt and yeast notes. At its face value, though, this is a good beer with heavy hops presence, plus some Belgian flair.

Straw yellow appearance with very little head. Aroma is a traditional tripel with straw and grain and some sweetness. Taste is malty sugar with some toffee and a bit of a bite. Mouthful is moderate with some carbonation. Overall a very good example of a Belgium tripel.

On draft at 49th State in Anchorage. Poured a clear, golden amber color with a small, off-white head of bubbly foam. It left sticky rings of lace on the glass. It smelled of grains, hay, straw and some sweet fruits. Nice bubblegum taste with caramel, toffee and a spicy bite.

Darker gold color with a mild haze. It was served with rim bubbles for a head. Nearly no clinging lace.
Sweet, almost a wort smell. Golden malt, no hop.
Warm and boozy mouthfeel, thin body, higher carbonation. The initial taste is syrupy sweet. Lots of unfermented malt sugar (even though the body doesn't reflect it). The alcohol warmth shows up in the swallow and fades quickly in the aftertaste. This beer simply doesn't have the subtle complexity of a well made Tripel.

I had this beer on-tap in a goblet at the Anchorage location.
Appearance: medium golden hue with a moderate haze and a layer of white foam. Looks nice!
Smell: smooth and sweet with a nice pear character. Classic tripel.
Taste: malty and sweet with a good orchardy pear character. It works for me. It might be just a little too boozy, though.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a decent carbonation and creaminess; not too bad but I expect better from a tripel.
Overall: not a bad tripel. A little boozy and a little thin, but overall quite nice.

Pretty traditional. Vibrant yellow gold with lasting bright white head that leaves strong lacing. Banana and white pepper stand out most in the aroma. Pear and belgian yeast linger in the taste. Medium bodied. Not bad.
