Super cloudy, milky and muddy-looking orange-tinted brown yeast bomb. Fast dissipating off-white head that leaves heavy rings of lacing. Big banana aroma with a bit of a fermaldehyde tinge. Lighter tasting with a slight wheat breadiness and just a hint of banana and caramel malt. Fairly light bodied. Not bad.

cool beer right here, not enough of these being made in the states. its a great style, and this is a fine example of it, one of the more traditional examples i have had. it has a little haze to it and a nice caramelized copper color, mahogany, rich. the head is thick at first but fades rather quickly, and it has the classic german yeast nose, with the banana thing going on.the grain is awesome here too, longer boil concentrated the sugars nicely, there is a deep nutty quality, and a toffee type sweetness. layered and well integrated with the yeast. everything here in excellent balance, and it tastes like it should, true to style all the way with very little deviation. this is an odd observation, but it has a neat coldness to it, like crisper and more refreshing than german made examples, maybe something to do with the water up there in alaska, but it has a snappy vibe to it that i like a lot, and cant be explained in terms of dryness. it wants a little more carbonation, and as smooth and creamy as it is, it stagnates just a little in the center. more bubbles would definitely help that, although i was very pleased with this overall. my first from these guys.
