Brewing in this great frontier provides a never ending set of challenges. But we charge ahead, undaunted. For no obstacle is too great when you have a vision for what lies ahead. This beer was brewed to embody that indomitable spirit. With a grain bill so massive, it overflowed our Lauter tun, over 1,000 gallons of birch sap collected and boiled down to add to the fermenter, and double our normal dose of spruce tips, this beer was brewed for fellow unconquerables.

The presence of birch sap and spruce is subtle at the nose but make themselves well known as the glass is drained. At over 10% alcohol content, it is not a chugging beer - that's not the point. No one quality overpowers individually. Rather, each combines to produce a unique and complex blend. This beer challenges the senses and inspires the inner explorer - if not to tackle Denali - then to at least have one more.

If you make the journey to Healy for no other reason than The Intrepid, It will be worth it.
