22oz bottle, tulip, looks like a Julian date stamped on the label.
Deeper gold for the style, hints of orange. The head isn’t overly voluminous, but does actually stick around.
Sweet crackery, corny malt hits up front and then there’s beech wood, BBQ, sweet smokiness. Subtle yet very attractive.
Crisp, with depth from the smoke. Crisp mineral bitterness to begin, leading to sweet corn malt body and a finish of caramelized ribs, herbal smoke, and mint.
Medium-light body, small peppy carbonation, soft finish.
As a fan of smoked beers, this tread new, delicious territory. It’s a really interesting way to add complexity to this style and I want more.
