awesome beer, one of my favorites from this most recent alaska trip, so interesting, so true to what it says it is, literally smells and tastes exactly like an apple fritter, amazing authenticity to it, i cant believe how close it gets, really impressive. a rusty orange toned beer, not super heady from the tap, a little cloudy, a little flat looking, real unassuming, but the first sniff perks me right up. it presents as only lightly tart, clean and lactic with light lemon and green apple pucker to it but not crazy acidic or anything, warming cinnamon, sweet and sexy vanilla, cooked and raw red and green apple and apple cider, maple and honey sweetness but not over the top, real nice with the pale and crystal type malt base this seems to be built upon, it even has a baked element to it! the flavor is just as good as the nose, even less sour too which is fine with these desserty flavors, but also curious is that this isnt all that sweet, even for having glazed and caramel elements to it, really it kind of bent my mind. cinnamon and apple together the whole way, just enough cinnamon, subtle clove and allspice too, cooked apple for sure, the right amount of malt to keep it beery, and a clean sourness that is real mild. the vanilla is natural and delicious, and this ends up really and truly tasting like an apple fritter. not very carbonated, my only knock on this, but its a minor one, i loved this. cool for this time of year, not overly desserty, downright awesome execution!
