I have had a number of beers done with this years pink boots hop blend, and this is at the top of my list, they just seem to have gotten more out of them than everyone else, captured some uniqueness from the mix, and have yielded a clean and downright dangerous strong ipa, i guess i didnt realize this was as strong as it is, left here pretty lit! matte wheaty pale orange color with some haze to it but also really airy and bubbly and heady, and it smells positively brand new, super fresh. side note, i dont remember their quality being quite so epic before this visit, but everything we drank this time was absurd, well done! this smells like peaches and peach candy, has hints of grass and spice, and is well grounded by the grain. ripe melon, cantaloupe specifically, is there in nose and taste as well, apricot preserves, underripe berries, dried flowers, and almost noble back end earthiness, lime zest too at the end. there is some grain sweetness through it for balance, but it isnt heavy. its also not bitter in the least and quite easy drinking and smooth for its abv. mixed grains likely in the mash, neutral yeast, gets more and more expressive as it warms, pink gum, taffy, and skittles. delicious and modern, so far a top tier deployment of this years hop blend. cool how popular this pink boots brew day has become, really neat! this is a double, but its not too big and bold for fish, which was to my delight. yum.
