I had a draft in Healy AK. It is a nice, light stout. At 4%abv, multiple servings are a possibility.

On nitro at 49th State in Anchorage. Poured an opaque, jet-black color with a pillowy-soft, white head of bubbly foam. It left sudsy sheets of lace on the glass. It smelled of chocolate, toffee and caramel. Sweet chocolate, roasted malt and toffee taste.

came here right when they opened for a meal and needed a good hangover beer, this is it, especially on nitro, smooth and mellow, rich and hearty, low alcohol and full of grainy goodness with no rough edges, super creamy in this format too, just right for the state i was in, and overall an awfully textbook example of the style here, super dry as they go with some of the irish yeast character in the mix, its balanced and agreeable in every way. eggshell luster, darn near black, and with a full inch of that nitro cream on top. smells muted as nitro beers often do, but there is an espresso note to the roast, a bready earthy vibe from the yeast, and some necessary bitterness, minimal but right. the flavor has no sweetness at all, no attempt to cancel or over balance the roastiness of the dark barley that drives this. faint smoke here, wet soil, bitter baking chocolate, its awesome but not overdone and thankfully not overly complex. its so smooth to drink on, soft and full and flush and alive, this really got the day going and awakened my slumbering beer enthusiasm, it was also delicious with their elk and reindeer pizza they do in here. on the whole this is a mighty professional and true to style nitro irish stout, bravo!

Pours opaque, dark brown in color. Taste is char, dark chocolate, roasted coffee, and smoke. Light bodied, low carbonation, sweet, and smoky. Tastes like a light bodied Guinness. I would get this again if I wanted the style.

A great version of the classic Irish Stout style. If you enjoy a Guinness, the you will be right at home with this beer. Similar to the Irish classic in just about every nuance. I would say the mouthfeel on this one is even more silky smooth than the traditional mainstay we know and love. Perfect pairing for a burger at this restaurant (we had the King Salmon burger - just great)!
A rocking atmosphere - plus an extremely respectable whiskey selection if one wants to venture there.
