Burley Oak Blue Suede
On tap at Church Key during their Night of the Living Ales. Served in a small snifter. $4 for a 4oz pour.
An odd beer. Does the blueberry "finish" (as described in the menu) give this beer its odd taste? Are other blueberry beers brewed similarly? Is there another spice added, coriander or oregano? Flat with no sour does not work for me. 3.25
A - Reddish brown brandy like with a thin white head. A small head but tastes like no carbonation. 4
S - No lactic or sour aroma. Oregano (other similar spice) with maybe some blueberry aroma far off in the distance. 3.5
T – No blueberry. No hops. Not sweet or sour. Some cask beer tendencies (I suppose because of the flat mouthfeel). Even some smoked flavor after I cleared my palate with a good drink of water. 3.25
MF – Medium light body. Neutral finish. Flat. 3
