We took our Lost IPA - already heavily dryhopped with simcoe, mosaic, and amarillo- fermented it with our house yeast for that juicy hazy goodness and then double dryhopped it with motueka hops!

32oz crowler from the brewery into a nonic.
Pours a hazy golden orange color. The 1-plus finger white fluff holds up and leaves ample spot lacing.
Smells of citrus and tropical fruits over slightly moist dough. There's some herb, like thyme, and a touch of that IPA onion aroma. The citrus is raw and rind. All together, it works well.
The fruits from the nose are there. There's also a bit of pine resin. The citrus is like barely ripe rind, pungent. Mellow malts.
Medium-plus body. Tang, resins, and strong grapefruit bites are present. Raw rind in the back end. Flavors to go.
It's a big bold yet drinkable 7.2% IPA that begs for more.

T- Tropical fruits/pineapple, citrus, herbal/piney finish, some pale malts.
M- Smooth, medium body.
O- A solid IPA, more a classic IPA with some influence from the hazy craze. Worth picking up.

Can date 2/16 (says 7.2% though website claims 7.7%):
Pours impenetrably hazy, but a vibrant orange color dulled by a matte finish. Head is uniformly lasting, and lots of spots lace my glass.
Nose initially car across with a wooden note to me. As I smelled more, though, I notice the pineapple to guava tropical notes combining with somewhat of a green wood bitterness gave me a fresh cut wood nose (this is a fresh beer, also). The tropical notes became more prominent as it warmed, andvthe wooden impression turned a tad coconutty.
The taste isn't quite as interesting or complex as the nose, as the flavors blend a little more than they did in the nose. The bitter notes get 2points for a reversal in the taste - still mostly wooden, a slight pine lean is detected. Pineapple still gets the top bill for the tropical notes that are detected. The rest almost taste more like an unripe nectarine.
The feel is slightly raw - not as smooth as some hazy IPAs I've had, but still with enough thickness to avoid palate wrecking.
I wished the taste were a little closer to that interesting nose. Who knows, after a few weeks, maybe the nose aligns more with the taste, but the scents really pop now.
