New beer, new brewery purchased from “the backroom cooler “ at Empire liquors

Can notes: sour ale brewed with Strawberry, marshmallow, lemon, cinnamon, vanilla, brown sugar, nutmeg, lactose

16 oz can poured into a teku, dated 4.19, opened 7.2, one finger off white foam cap quickly recedes to a thin layer over a translucent orange, reddish , brown dark tea colored liquid

Taste is strawberry , marshmallow, cinnamon, nutmeg , lemon..very flavorful, interesting mix of flavors

Fizzy sudsing , creamy sweet tart , full of flavor

Good beer

Pours a dark burnt orange color. Opaque and viscous but not sludgy like you get with some of these fruited kettle sours. Huge, billowy head forms on the beer but quickly and steadily recedes leaving behind a thin layer of foam on top of the beer.

Aroma has notes of tart strawberries, citrus, lemon, and then a sweet marshmallow note. The result is this creamy, sweet ice cream-ish like character. The marshmallow aroma has a rather artificial character to it however as it warms up.

Taste follows the nose with notes of tart strawberry, lemon, giving way to sweet marshmallow, nutmeg, cinnamon, and vanilla. Its pretty tart, moderately sour and very acidic. The spices add a lovely depth to this making it reminiscent of a pie with ice cream.

Feel is tart enough to produce a palpable puckering. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation. Rather dry on the finish.

Overall this is a nice fruited kettle sour.

T: Extremely smooth tarty strawberry with a hint of lemon into a creamy marshmallow finish.
F: A light, very soft and fruit strawberry lemonade.
O: A unique and simple but sweet strawberry lemonade.
