Tart fans rejoice! This acidulous beauty may look sweet as blueberry pie, but those cherries are perhaps more embittered in their disposition than their cloying counterparts.

Looks like a glass of fruit purée and I like it. Lots of berries on the palate of course but still pretty sour and mostly dominated by lemony acidity. Not complete reflux city but part of the way there. This was canned a while ago so the fruit flavors may be tamped down a little at this point. Not as thick as the name might suggest. I like this but will admit a bit of bias as I’ve had a few of the Hudson valley brewery’s very best fruited, lactosed sour beers in recent days and this is a definite step down from those, which I consider best in class.

This brew smelled and tasted of rotten fruit with a little bile thrown in for good measure. I purchased this from the brewery the week it was released so it was fresh. Burley is hit or miss for me and this was a miss.
