I could have sworn I had a Burly Oak beer at some point, but apparently this is the first one, at least in terms of reviews. Again, I'm breaking my rule of finishing my Tavour boxes in order this one, but the fruited stuff could go wrong if not consumed immediately on this rather warm day. Or I just need a fruit fix, up to you to decide

Pours a cloudy yellow gold with 2 fingers of soapy white head that quickly fades to a thin ring and leaves minimal lacing. Weird, I was kinda expecting a smoothie consistency, but I guess I had the wrong understanding of this series

The nose is obviously sweet, but it's a complex sweetness and there's a tart bite to it as well. I'm picking up on aromas of tart pineapple, earthy cinnamon, brown sugar, toasted walnut, shortbread cookies, lemon custard, and sweet vanilla

It's still sweet in taste, but somehow the extra tartness actually takes away from the finer points of the sweet notes observed in the nose. On the front end of the sip I'm tasting tart pineapple, lemon zest, brown sugar, shortbread cookies, light molasses, cinnamon, light vanilla, and caramel. The swallow brings notes of tart pineapple, lemon juice, brown sugar, cinnamon, tasted pecan, sweet vanilla, sticky caramel, light molasses, and orange juice

A medium body pairs with gentle carbonation, resulting in a slick and sharp beer. Finishes mostly dry with a tart bite that hurts the flavor a bit but keeps things refreshing

This isn't anything amazing, but it's certainly unique as far as the style goes. I'd even go so far as to say I'd get it again, not something I do often with these, even when they're better than this. It just has some inexplicable allure to it
