Dessert-inspired sour ale layered with rich, bakery-fresh flavor. Notes of cinnamon, nutmeg, brown sugar, and moist vanilla cake crumb with hints of freshly grated carrot round out the profile, while a bright, refreshing tartness keeps every sip balanced.

Burley Oak Brewing Co. "Carrot Cake Cheesecake J.R.E.A.M."
16 fl. oz. can seemingly without production codes or freshness dating
$ @ State Line Liquors, Elkton, MD
Look: A cloudy orange body is capped by a short head of white foam. Limited head retention and lacing.
Smell: Notes of cinnamon, vanilla, ginger, and brown sugar. There's a suggestion of acidity but not like you'd find in a standard sour beer.
Taste: You can actually taste the carrot juice which is slightly weird but also spectacular. It really works with the sweetness and spices. There's the acidity as well but it delivers its sweetness first and then the acidity which helps to dry it in the finish. Is there nutmeg, because I'm getting nutmeg? According to the label there is NOT, but it also lists orange and cream cheese. Yeah, I'm finding those as well. It's really well balanced and rounded in my opinion, which is what makes a really well-brewed beer great and not just very good. The finish dries slowly as the sweetness fades and the acidity comes forward, leaving you ready for another sip. That's a beautiful, lingering finish that's just as good as the start, middle, and swallow.
Feel: Light-medium in body and gently crisp-then-smooth with a moderate, fine-bubbled carbonation.
Overall: A really unique beer that delivers the goods all around.
