described by the brewery as a brown campfire porter with house smoked barley, draft at Specific Gravity in Salisbury, MD
a: served in a shorty glass, smokey is maple brown in color with a low, lightly retained head
s: toasty-sweet brown malts and some slightly meaty smoke, mild earthy hop aromas, fairly straightforward
m: carbonation low to moderate with a body on the lighter side of the medium range
t: similar to the nose, the main component is toasted brown malts with a moderate sweetness, middle-range notes of hardwood smoke, mild hop flavors
o: a little too simple and low in complexity for my taste, the one-dimensional malt bill could use a little kick - maybe a little roast or some dry nuttiness to offset the sugars, they were presumably going for drinkability here, but some more malt range would add depth and make for a more enjoyable beer imo, the smoke was fine too, but not particularly savory or vivid - all said it was fine beer, but I tend to look for a little more depth and balance in my smoked beers
