Formerly Coulrophobia India Red Ale
Chucklehead IRA will have you grinning from ear to beer. Deep amber in colour and hop forward in flavour, this full-bodied brew juggles fresh pine bitterness with hints of citrus fruit. Clowns are mostly terrifying. This beer is delicious.

India Red Ale From a brew crew that is always putting something new out there for better or worse, usually for the better.
Appears clear orange copper, head retained more than adequately, whisky lacing all around as it dissipates. Aromas of mild mandarin with caramel and toasty biscuits. Taste showcases more pine and resin hop flavours up front with the citrus in the background, supported by toasted bready maltiness. Medium bodied up front like a solid malty red, with the hop dryness building on the finish to create a really nice balance here. This falls in the win category for Phillips who I'm always happy to take a chance on as they continue to experiment and innovate.

Day 19 of the Phillips Snowcase advent calendar. 341ml bottle poured into tulip.
Pours a deep reddish-copper with a strapping two-finger head of firm beige foam that leaves alien skyline lace as it recedes.
Smells of bitter citrusy, piney hops and caramel malt. Grapefruit and orange rind.
Tastes of indistinct citrus rind, caramel malt and gentle dank pineyness.
Feels gently frothy. Medium bodied with sturdy carbonation. Finishes dry.
Verdict: Recommended. A nice hoppy amber ale.

This is an extremely solid beer. From packaging to pour to taste, it is a pretty unique combination. I enjoyed the combination of malt and hops - an Irish red with some west coast hop zing. Even better, drinking this beer expanded my vocabulary. It's a win win.
