This is a very agreeable mixture of styles. Phillips consistently creates novel experiences and this is no different. The Belgian yeast, peppery malt, and finishing hops all meld together nicely. This is definitely more saison than IPA. Overall, a very tasty brew - this one is worth seeking.

A very delicious beer, pours a nice golden cloudy color. Smell of citrus hops. One of the best beers i have ever tasted with an excellent sour taste and smooth finish. The citrus and hops really compliment each other for one of the best flavor pallets in a beer ive ever tried. Delicious and worth the buy. Best enjoyed from a glass

Phillips Brewing 'Barnstormer Saison IPA' @ 7.2% , served from a 650 ml bottle purchased for $5.75
A-pour is a light gold from the bottle to a clear light gold in the glass with a medium size white head leaving a spotty lace along the pint , by the last pour from the bottle , hazy in the glass
S-saison yeast meets citrus hops
T-a somewhat tasty saison/IPA hybrid
MF-ok carbonation , full bodied
Ov-ok beer , interesting combination , more of a saison than IPA

650ml bottle. Phillips has made Belgian IPAs before, but I guess this is somehow different - maybe the trendiness of the headlining style here, perchance?
This beer pours a hazy, pale golden yellow colour, with four fingers of puffy, sudsy, and fizzy dirty white head, which leaves some rather sparse dried soap scum lace in places around the glass as things quickly sink away.
It smells of grainy, crackery pale malt, earthy yeast, faint black and white pepper spice, a twinge of orange and white grapefruit rind, and further leafy, weedy, and floral hops. The taste is bready, doughy pale malt, a bit of caramel sweetness, that estery Saison yeast, muddled table-top spice, a veritable citrus fruit salad, and more leafy, earthy, and floral hop bitters.
The bubbles are fairly engaging in their playfulness, as well as in their structural integrity, the body a decent medium weight, and generally smooth, the hops sedate enough to convince the yeast that interfering here benefits no one. It finishes well off-dry, the doughy pale graininess holding more than its fair share of the cards, while the yeast, hoppy fruitiness, and fading spice bid us adieu.
Definitely an agreeable mixing of worlds, something this brewery seems more than capable of doing. Estery, hoppy, just sweet enough, and boozy without the typical astringencies, yeah? While I re-iterate for the nth time that I don't like my west-coast IPAs to be messed with, I suppose I have to come around eventually on those that would, with no less than the best of intentions.
