I found this bottle on Steamworks shelf in December but happily I like slightly aged Octoberfests. Along with GI's Oct fest this is really the only bottled versions available in BC. Luckily this one hits the mark with a slightly sweet dark version with lots of hops and a big finish. Food friendly with a real smoothness this is a welcome addition to the Fall beer selection

Mahogany-copper colour with cream coloured head. The head clings nicely to the side of the glass and sticks around for quite awhile in the form of foamy islands.
Toffee malt smell with an industrial bitterness to it, I guess from the hops.
This would score higher in the taste department if it weren't for notable the coppery presence to it. Still, this has a decent sweet, caramely malt flavour. Weak hop bitterness.
Nice on the mouth, but the wierd combination of malt sweetness and that copper flavour make this a tough swallow at times.
