650ml bottle - a 'levidrome' is (yet to be accepted) apparently a word that spells one thing when read forward, and another when read backwards. This idea was concocted by a 7-year old kid, really. Better get my little guy working on more stuff than 'just' Lego, eh?
This beer pours a slightly hazy, medium golden yellow colour, with four fingers of puffy, finely foamy, and mildly fizzy off-white head, which leaves some random snow rime lace around the glass as it slowly dissipates.
It smells of gritty and grainy cereal malt, a bit of earthy yeastiness, some tame apple skin fruity notes, and plain floral, weedy, and dried hay-like hop bitters. The taste is bready and crackery pale malt, some muddled light tropical fruitiness, faint earthy spice essences, lager yeast, and more understated leafy, musty, and gently perfumed floral hoppiness.
The carbonation is adequate in its palate-satiating frothiness, the body a solid middleweight, and generally smooth, with nothing in particular getting in the way of a swell time here. It finishes off-dry, the crackery malt, generic fruitiness, and sneaky alcohol measure predominating.
Overall - this 'Regal/Lager' appears to be the real deal, as far as an Imperialized version of an indeterminate (so we'll just say Canadian) pilsner. Crisp, and easy to drink, all whilst contemplating the notion that it'll be a full dozen years before wee Levi can legally partake in the offering that his idea has spawned for all we dumb-ass adults out there.
