Appearance. Slightly hazy, rich amber-gold with a finger of smooth white head that must've had somewhere to go.

Smell. Apricot, grapefruit and oranges, caramel, lemon and toasty light grains.

Taste. Dry, toasty malted grains, some bitter citrus rind. Nice and hoppy.

Mouthfeel. Light-medium body with medium-strong smooth carbonation.

Overall. Very nice bitter/ipa. I like 'em hoppy, so a hoppy bitter is fine by me. Extra points for the great name.

Phillips GrowHop pours a bright copper with a thin head that doesn't linger. The aroma is dry toasted malt with tons of herbal, earthy and mildly citrusy and grass hops. More toasted, bready malt comes into the flavor with some nice herbal, almost tea like quality. The bitterness is moderate, but not overpowering or intense. Overall this is a delicious beer, I like that it is brewed with fresh hops, without the intensity of an IPA. The malt nicely balances the hops character.

Interesting take on a bitter...I like it, but I think it is almost bordering on a weak IPA.

Good, classic bitter look but with a big head. Rich, malty smell but you can definitely note the hops in here. The fresh hops certainly pack more of a wallop than dried hops.

Creamy malt taste. The hops hide at first, but as I swallow there is a definite IPA character to this. Nice breadiness in there too. A little bit of musty, barnyard taste also.

Initially, I though the carbonation a bit high, but as it warms up it settles and starts to feel a bit more like a bitter.

A nice beer - very interesting. This definitely is an English bitter but it sometimes wears an IPA mask.

Bottle courtesy of Gravelle! Deep hazed copper/amber pour with a foamy off white cap that lasts and laces. Aroma of very fresh whole leaf hops. Pine, some grapefruit, mango, apricot, earthy caramel malts, some spice. Tastes of very fresh hops again, piney, cirtus, almost minty with the freshness. This leads to a subtle sweet mango/peach malty-ness with bready hints to balance the fresh hops. Nice lingering bitter finish. I loved it! Thanks Jon!
