A: dark black with a rich brown head on top.

S: the smell is dark sticky chocolate pudding. Slight mint in finish.

T: dark chocolate, and vanilla up front. Followed by mint and brown sugar.

M: thick and creamy. There's a nice softness to it. Moderate carbonation.

O: maybe not for everyday drinking, but I could see hitting this for some holiday goodness.

poured from a growler into a snifter

A - dark and black no light can penetrate with a really nice head that lasts with beautiful lacing.

S - beautiful smell that is a great preview of whats to come. very strong mint smell with chocolate overtones. clearly a chocolate mint stout.

T - Taste is definitely chocolate mint but has a very strong alcohol taste. the alcohol takes away from the mint. Drinking the beer tastes like the mint comes from mint extract between the mint flavor and the alcohol that follows. I'm not sure how they did the mint addition but with such a strong alcohol presence it's defiantly tastes like extract. Overall if the alcohol taste was masked a little more it would have been different. the strong presence makes the mint sorta taste extracty or synthetic.

M - ok mouthfeel carbonated very well and goes down smooth.

O - the beer is a good beer and the stout is good. My biggest complaint of the strong presence of the alcohol taste, though it may be extract, that takes away from the mint. I would buy this again to try it and see if another batch is different and if your here and they have it it's definitely worth trying at least once.
