This is a one-off, I suppose, but it speaks very well of the brewing skills available atthis brewery. This is a unique brew, being a Bohemian style Pilsner served more or less as a cask beer, unfiltered, and dry-hopped (with Saaz, of course).
Enjoyed this on draft on International Pilsner Day in the brewery's home town (and mine), Richmond, Va.USA. The beer came from the tap with little persistent head, a light golden hue, quitr cloudy. No doubt, the "cask ale" quality (lowish carbomation) and the cloudiness mean I really need to give this a low score on appearence.
That said, it is a very nice brew. Rich, somewhat malty, crisp and clean in aroma and flavor, with a nice big snout full of Saaz hops. This really is a delicious, refreshing, mouthfilling pilsner, beautifully balanced, nicely aromatic. I don't detect the sorts of malt complexity that sometimes characterize the decotion-mashed pilsners of Moravia and Bohemia, but it is, justthe same, a clean, tasty, proper pilsner. Good job, Hardywood!

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
