Hardywood Sunnidalia is in collaboration with Starr Hill Brewery using a traditional Hefeweisen malt bill and Weihenstephaner yeast. We took it one step further and created a hoppy version of the traditional wheat beer by using copious amounts of Hull Melon hops and a touch of wildflower honey. This beer is uniquely aromatic and suitable for summer.

On tap:
This beer poured almost like an AAL - clear yellow-golden with large bubbles creating a bubble-bath head. This eventually calmed to be a large number of bubbles from all over the glass bottom feeding a thin white surface head. The bubbles seem to break as quickly as they hit the surface. Very odd.

The nose is banana mostly, with some notes of grass. The banana seems to get more ripe as the beer warms, at times almost seeming like banana pudding.

Although the look was odd, the taste is where things get funky. This beer is actually hop-forward (it is a "hoppy hefeweizen"), but the banana from the nose is the opening taste and the one that balances the bitter. The hops are grassy to maybe herbal - generally "green". One disappointment is that the hops seem to fade. Usually this melding of the flavors is a good thing to me, but I enjoyed the strange dichotomy of banana and raw grass. The balanced flavor just seems more boring, if perhaps more approachable.

The feel is a bit watery all things considered. The carbonation is lively but a tad "sharp", not as smooth as I'd like from the style.

Interesting, but I'm not sure it's a good combination all things considered.

This beer, in every aspect, reminds me of Stone Enjoy By 7-4-15. It has a great murky golden IPA look with magnificent head and sticky, spotty lacing. Aroma is of big citrus, grapefruit, citrus peel, some sweetness and a little dankness. Taste is big, big grapefruit, onions and other assorted citrus and pine hops. Awesome, great IPA finish with the grapefruit and onion lingering arounf for awhile. Awesome brew!
