The port barrel aging seems to make it a bit one dimensional compared to the bourbon variant, but the increase in sweetness from the port greatly enhances the mouth feel. Great offering

Poured on-tap and served in a shaker pint, the beer is a mahogany coloring with ruby tint, and a filmy, foamy, off-white head. Nose of rich port wine, sweet caramel, woody notes, and subtle stone fruit sweetness. Flavors are dry and sweet port character forward, with a solid dose of fig and date, subtle cinnamon and nutmeg spice, and a boozy warmth. Full and slick, with a stone fruit and boozy port aftertaste. The finish is slick, full, and with a fruity and wine linger. Great beer.
