Poured on-tap at the brewery as part of their "Barrel Day" and served in a shaker pint, the beer is jet black and thick, with a dark brown, dense, foamy head. Aromas of bourbon, coffee bitterness, vanilla, brown sugar, molasses, bittersweet chocolate, and woody highlights. Amazing. Flavors are vanilla and booze forward, with a solid chocolate and caramel backbone, subtle sugary and ginger highlights, and a bready backbone. Oily slick and rich bodied, with a sugary, boozy, chocolate, and gingerbread cookie aftertaste. The finish is slick, layered, and smooth, with a gingerbread and boozy linger. Great beer!
