Poured on tap in a snifter, the beer is jet black and creamy smooth, with a thin, clingy, tan head. Aromas of rich molasses, chocolate, wine characteristics, and hops bitterness. Flavors are chocolate, licorice, molasses, red wine notes, coffee, and piney hops. This thing is all over the place, but well balanced. Smooth, creamy body, with a licorice, molasses, and booze aftertaste. Smooth, slow, creamy finish, with a solid Cru finish. Very unique.

On tap @ Hardywood....A blend of RIS (Trickery base I believe), Grand Cru, and Great Return IPA. Pours a deep brown/black with copper highlights in the sun (standing in line for Trickery). Aroma of chocolate, toffee, caramel, hops, molasses, "congac", coffee and chocolate. Flavor for me started off with the big RIS flavors chocolate coffee, molasses, caramel then moved to the Grand Cru flavors toffee, caramel, etc.. then finished with a slight bitter/hoppy-ness. Mouthfeel was silky smooth as the other reviewer stated, and on the lower end of medium carbonation. Overall I loved this "Frankenbier" blend. It was unusual, yet extremely satisfying.

So this is a blend of an RIS, grand cru and Great Return. Starts of slightly stouty, but the cru hangs around longer until molasses prevails. Nose is mainly stout though. Best thing about this is the wildly silky mouthfeel.
