This one pours a dark brownish/gold color, with a small head, and not much lacing.
This smells basically barleywine-like, with sticky toffee, dried dark fruit, apple brandy, caramel, oak, and some light chocolate notes.
This is heavy duty and a big ol' malty beast for sure. It's not super wee heavy like, it's more just oozing with caramel, toffee, and dark breadiness, along with a light dusting of chocolate and raisin. The apple brandy adds a warming and slightly boozy sweetness, and the light oak tempers that a bit. This is well crafted for sure.
This is medium bodied, sticky, and slightly creamy, with not too much booziness. It's a slow, enjoyable sipper.
This is a style that pretty much will always make me happy.
