Collaboration with Patagonia Provisions.
Hardywood proudly presents Patagonia Kernza Lager, a German-style Amber Lager (Altbier). Kernza Lager is brewed with Tettnang hops, Perle hops, and certified organic Kernza. This beer is a crisp, delicious, malt-driven, and well-balanced lager. Kernza, a deeply-rooted regenerative perennial grain, has the potential to transform the brewing industry. It stabilizes soil, requires minimal tilling, increases soil organic matter, and improves soil structure and water-holding capacity. Ongoing research also shows that Kernza draws down and stores more carbon in the soil than annual grains. When used in beer, it adds a deliciously rich but subtle, nutty flavor.

Pours a medium brown color, with foamy cream colored head. Aroma of earthy toasted grain. Taste is similar, well balanced, drier finish. Medium bodied.
