Gingerbread Bourbon Cru melds the best of both worlds: a robust Belgian Quadruple aged in Bourbon Barrels for six months and the decadent gingerbread flavors imparted by Virginia ginger, cinnamon, Madagascar Bourbon Vanilla Beans, and local honey. This beer is full-flavored, finishing smooth, warming, and brimming with holiday cheer.

Look: It pours brown with a bit of clouding. It has an off white head and head retention is low.
Smell: It is a bit sugary in the aroma with strong malty elements as well. It has bread elements with ginger and cinnamon. There are some bourbon notes and nutmeg.
Taste: It is bready and sweet with ginger and cinnamon. It also has nutmeg and bourbon. The are some doughy parts. There are light cherry notes.
Feel: It has a medium full body with strong alcohol warming.
Overall, the quad beer parts are not that strong due to the spicing elements, but fairly complex beer.

The beer pours a light off-white foamy head that dissipates very quickly. The beer itself is an opaque deep dark brown color.
The smell is delicious. It has strong sweet honey and dark fruit notes surrounded by spices such cinnamon and ginger. The vanilla beans come out but is consumed by the spices.
The taste is delicious. It starts off with a honey and gingerbread (ginger and cinnamon) taste followed up by the vanilla beans. It's certainly sweeter and (dark) fruitier than the base beer, but not overly so.
The feel is good. The texture has a heavy-medium body with a smooth and slightly sticky texture with very little carbonation. It has a slightly sticky and warm finish.
Overall, this is a pretty delicious beer worth getting while it's available. It's slightly indulgent but not overly so. I definitely felt the holiday cheer from this.
