On cask at Hay Merchant's Anniversary party. This is apparently Fra-Gee-Lay with coco nibs and other stuff, and feel it should be a separate entry.
A: Pours a dark brown, almost black color. A two finger, creamy, beige head rises for a minute, and recedes just as quickly. Light lace is left behind.
S: Buttered popcorn and strong diacetyl up front. A bit of cinnamon and nutmeg kind of spice peaks through. Though the diacetyl is the entire show. Disappointing.
T: Like the nose, big buttered popcorn and diacetyl up front. As this warms more of the spices and chocolate come through. Just not enough to counter the diacetyl.
M/D: A medium body with good carbonation, especially for a cask. Fairly creamy and smooth. Not really hard to drink, I just want to get through this as quickly as I can to move on to something else.
I am a huge fan of Fra-Gee-Lay (even this years version). This is a mess and diacetyl overkill. Maybe like my review. Needless to say, I was disappointed.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
