The bartender told me add orange juice to the beer. After a while I did. It did add some orange flavor but it also made taste more watery.

Look: yellow with an inch white head

Aroma: wheat, orange

Flavor: The flavor is wheat, maybe orange, not much yeast typical of wheat beer.

Body/Overall: light, a bit watery

Southern Wheat has a thick, spongy, off-white head, and a bubbly, hazy, gold appearance, with splotchy lacing. The aroma is of white wheat bread and a touch of citrus. The flavor is similar, with moderate sweetness and no bitterness. Southern Wheat has a high-medium body and a fluffy mouthfeel, with a mostly-dry finish.

I had this beer on-tap in a pint nonic at Beerhive Draft & Craft in the Houston airport.

Appearance: hazy light golden hue with a finger of creamy ivory foam atop. Looks pretty good!

Smell: light wheaty aroma. Perhaps not the most complex beer out there, but decent enough.

Taste: quite malty with plenty of wheat character and a soft yeast character. It's definitely got more of an American wheat flavor vs. a Hefeweizen. I don't really get a lot of "witbier" flavors here, however.

Mouthfeel: medium body with a decent carbonation and creaminess.

Overall: a perfectly cromulent American wheat ale; however, a relatively uninteresting Belgian witbier. Not terrible, but not particularly notable.

Can't believe I had missed this one, it's one of my regular favorite Tx brews.

Poured into a frosty 16oz IPA glass. Hazy tan to straw with a good 2 finger head and pretty good lace.

This is a damn smooth and easy to drink wheat beer, and one of the tops in this style.

Karbach is one of my most purchased Tx beers for a reason, and this is one of those reasons.

Look: hazy yellow gold, definitely looks like an unfiltered wheat beer.
Smell: Rather light, some breadiness, lemon, yeast. The smell is still very light and a little disappointing.
Taste: Lemony, yeast bread, I don’t detect the typical Belgian yeast flavor that you should expect from something labeled Belgian style, another disappointment.
Feel: it has a good mouthfeel, it’s semi dry but still has a fullness to it that is quite nice.
Overall, it’s a good beer, but it lacks the Belgian character that comes from the yeast.
Perhaps they should’ve described it as an American style wheat beer.
