Another beer that has a relatively low rating that I think is better that its rating. I got a beautiful pour from a can into a tulip glass. Nice head and lacing. Sweet bready smell and taste. A bit of sweet spice like cinnamon. Nice beer.

Poured from a can with a born on date of 5/17/17; into a pint glass.
Appearance- gold, highly carbonated with a medium, soapy white head that receeds to a thin layer. Lacing is poor.
Smell - weak nose, typical lager.
Taste - a lot of German flavor stands out, giving this some strong character.
Feel - crisp, light and fairly refreshing.
Overall - not a big lager fan, but I like the spin on this one.

Appearance: Pours clear golden, with a frothy head that does a good job in the lacing department
Smell: Biscuity, with honey tones
Taste: Biscuity forward, with a growing honeyed sweetness that builds through the middle; slightly herbal and a modest amount of bitterness that lingers into the finish; graham crackers in the aftertaste
Mouthfeel: Light to medium body with moderate carbonation
Overall: A sweeter style larger; not for me

Living in San Antonio, Karbach beers are a standard everywhere since we're only 2.5 hours from Houston. All their beers are very good because they are well made and the recipes are very balanced. Sympathy grows on you because it is so flavorful and balanced for a 4.9% lager. My favorite styles are all ales, but Sympathy has become my 'every day' beer. I've had 2 1/4 barrels at the house so far and have not gotten tired of it yet. You'll pick up different hop or malt flavors day to day based on how you pallet is working that day. Nothing stands out; its just good beer.
