Star Child Pilsner was canned for Pride month just as New England days get warmer and longer. It’s a Bohemian-style pilsner dry hopped with mosaic that’s light and crisp with a refreshing drinkability.

One of my favorite new American Pilsners. It’s a combo of tradition and creative brewing: Bohemian style dry hopped with Mosaic.

Cloudy, light golden color.

Very fragrant, added fruit aroma- unlike in any other Pilsner I’ve tasted. Mosaic adds a special flavor.

Smooth MF- not too dry like other beers in the style. Very strong fruit taste. Not overshadowed by bitterness, or a dry crispness.

Excellent beer brewed to celebrate RI Pride.

Missed this can in the back of my fridge and was hesitant to review based on the style and roughly a year old. But the beer pours clean and the aroma is solid so off we go!
Beer pours cold into a snifter and has been in my fridge since I got it roughly a year ago. Pours a clear golden color with a fluffy bleached white head of 3 cm foaming up and almost topping the edge of my glass. Several active streams of carbonation rise from the bottom to replenish the foam, but it still slowly recedes to a sturdy surface leaving large pockmarking craters as it settles.
The aroma is spot on for a pilsner. I get grainy malts and some grassy and spicy hops with a touch of lemon. Generally the nose is very clean and crisp, seems spot on.
First sip reveals a light and crisp textured body with fine and very tingly carbonation. Almost prickly on my palate and giving the body a little more character and depth.
Flavor is what the nose advertises with some grainy malt up front and a bit of spicy hop character. I get some lemon juice coming through and a bit of herbal tea hop that lingers on the finish.
Very clean and crisp brew that I enjoy. WIsh I had drank this can fresh, but it still passes muster at this date.

Good head production, with two fingers of snow white head sitting atop a pale lemon-yellow transparent body. Retention is a touch lacking. Body is lively.

Nose is crisp and clean, lightly floral, with pilsner malt coming through. Subtle hints of lemon, melon, and orange peel.

Flavor is a nice balance between fruity flavors - in particular, lemon and melon - and slightly earthy pilsner malt. The low IBU results in an overly sweet aspect to the beer, but just slightly.

Crisp and clean on the palate; very drinkable, very appropriate for the style.

No dating on the can, but as it was a limited beer for Pride month, it's around 2 - 2.5 months since brewing.

Pours an unfiltered pale straw in the glass with two fingers of fluffy white head. Nose of a clean farmhouse yeast; notes of hay, barley, florals, earthy herbal tea and a hint of spiciness. Taste follows the nose but brings in some hop notes; blackberry, slight pine and a hint of tangerine peel. Mouthfeel is a slightly sticky medium-light with some lingering bitterness in the aftertaste. Incredibly easy drinking and perfect for the end of a hot summers day. I wish I could of picked up a can a bit closer to the brewing, I bet some fresh hops would of really added another notch to this one.
