Wafel is a Belgian-style Tripel brewed with Liège-style waffles and Belgian pearl sugar from Burgundian Coffee & Waffles. Smooth and complex, it’s best enjoyed by those who love food and beer, both in quality and quantity and shared among friends. This golden deliciousness weighs in at 12% ABV and 42 IBUs. 4-packs will be available for the first time ever from our brewery. Burgundian will be taking over our kitchen tonight serving up both sweet and savory waffle dishes to fill your bellies. So get here early before those pesky Beer Gnomes steal it all.

Strong head production, and while it initially seems as though it will be short lived, it hangs around for quite a while - about 1/4 finger of firm, very light tan foam several minutes after the pour. Body is a dark, smokey amber-orange, but despite the deep color is almost completely transparent.
Fairly standard tripel on the nose: fairly boozy (not surprising for a 12% take on the style), mild bubblegum, and mild hops. Pear, banana, honey, pine, and light citrus. The more I savor the aroma, the more I want to take a taste.
Lovely and very easy drinking on the palate. A fairly chewy feel is the only indication of the heavy malt base; very little heat and no sting, with only a mild warming in the back of the throat.
The flavor profile includes banana, clove, honey, dough, pear, mint, and very light, sweet orange.
It takes a lot for me to get behind an American Tripel, and being presented with a 12% adjunct tripel did not inspire confidence in me. Well, I'm willing to stand back and be very impressed. This is well made, tasty, smooth, and a delight.
