This beer has been with me for so long that I have forgotten who sent me these wee tiny 250 ml CANs. I had to get the brewer approved in the data base, plus I wanted to get usable pictures before opening them. All is finally in readiness and away we go.
From the CAN: Lots of Kanji that I CANnot read, but I will save the CAN for future reference. Aside from that - "The original Malt Liquor"; "Brewed with Japanese Citrus & Spice".
The Crack & Glug moved quickly with only 8.45 fluid ounces with which to work. I got a brief finger of fizzy white head that quickly dissipated its way out of existence. Color was a coppery-amber with NE-quality clarity. Nose smelled distinctly of ginger and in total, it looked like a half a glass of ginger ale. Mouthfeel was medium and the taste held nothing back in the ginger department. Man, this smoked some of my taste buds with the intensity of the ginger! I was not expecting that, I'll tell you. Finish was extremely dry and very spicy. I could see this on a hot day or paired with the right dish or dishes but on its own, it was a bit much. I am glad that it was only a small amount or I do not know what I might have done. I am going to be tasting ginger for a while though, I CAN promise you.
