On-tap at Bar Hop. Served in a 5oz taster glass.
A - Thin tan foam settles to a collar, leaving behind fingers of lace. Dark brown body, with light ruby transparency at the edges of the glass.
S - Nice vanilla, oak, chocolate fudge, roast, and mild notes of peat and char from the whisky. It's definitely more of a Scotch-esque barrel-aging here rather than bourbon, but it's thankfully not overbearing.
T - The taste is a bit more rough and peat-laden, with mild iodine, permanent marker, and light oak. Significantly less sweet, with some baker's chocolate and roast to it. Finish has a bit more char and bitterness than I tend to like.
M - Dry, roasty, tannic, and slightly smoked texture. Lower carbonation and a pleasant medium-full body.
D - This was enjoyable in a 5oz serving, but I think I'll need a few hands on deck to drink the bomber I got from liamt07. Still, a well-executed barrel-aged stout from Ontario, which is a relatively new phenomena for me.

On tap @ Bar Hop.
A - Black with half a finger of light brown head.
S - Chocolate, whiskey, oak and a touch of vanilla. A nice overall nose with good balance.
T - Huge barrel profile dominates up front with a dominant peaty/smoky/scotch flavour coming to the forefront along with loads of char. Some chocolate and roast from the base beer is present as well but very much secondary to the barrel notes.
M - Medium body. Light carbonation.
O - This must have been aged in scotch whiskey barrels as there was undoubtedly a big peat/smoke profile. The scotch notes dominated a little too much for me but the flavorus still came together nicely. A well made beer.

On tap at Bar Hop. Black bodied, with some lace. Roasted coffee. A good job, good drinkability though unexceptional compared to the IS out there. Like coffee added, only a bit of whiskey. I would like something a bit more interesting, say more hop character.

On-tap at C'est What?. This is the "... Uranus" in whisky barrels.
Beer is black with a small tan head Fades quickly, but leaves a good lace.
Smell contains whisky, smoke, peat, anise and vanilla.
Taste is strongly tilted towards the whisky- peat and smoke. Roasted malt, a bit of cocoa. Pretty heavy barrel effect, but good. Some vanilla.
Full bodied, moderately carbonated.
Overall, a nice rendition of the base beer.
